JEEP TOUR IN REMOTE
ALBANIAN LAND

DAY 1

 

After meeting with Albanian Local guide we load the Jeeps and we get ready to know our cars. Our first drive and check will lead us towards greater highlands in the Razma. Area is situated 900m above sea level and known for its nature, flora and fauna.  The twisted road from Rec towards Razma is as “sneaky” as you can think when every corner has a new view to offer and admire. If time permits an off road drive towards the black meadows is optional.

DAY 2

 

Today we will drive towards the one of the most pristine valleys in Albanian, Theth.  The valley has been for centuries an isolated and remote location during winter.  Several stops on  the way to admire the views of the Albanian highest peaks like Radohima and Jezerca to drive from Gjelaj to Okol through a rough off road and partly on foot to discover the village highlights as the Church and Vendetta Tower.

DAY 3

 

Described as the “Shala Gate” this pass away has protected the area from many invaders through history.  People of Shala known for their bravery towards Slavs, Turks, Montenegrins and Germans have protected their identity thought those mountains and passages.  Our trip will lead through Shoshi Mountain to reach Shkodra. Time to visit Rozafa Castle and the Great cathedral.

DAY 4

 

According to the Ferry departure maybe with a breakfast on the go today we will head to Koman Lake. Build for hydropower the dam, largest of its kind in Balkan is the biggest producer of electricity in Albania. Lake is long 40 km and many travelers have described as the Norwegian fjords for its beauty and thick relieve. In Valbona another off road drive along the dry river combined with a walk to the Valbona Waterfall.

DAY 5

 

Known as the “Stone Blinking Road” we will drive into an area with a lot of mining and Chrome. Luzha pass is highest to connect Tropoja and Has the administrative centre of Kruma region known for its crossroads from coast towards inlands and meeting place of Black and White Drin rivers.  Our destination will be Shistavec an area with Gorani minority that leaves in Albania.

DAY 6

​

Known as the “Flowers Road” into the Shishtavec pastures to drive along the border with Northern Macedonia once upon ago Yugoslavia is still a witness of the Cold War when the isolated Albania surrounded the country with bunkers and wired fences.  The scenic road along Black Drin that comes from Lake Ohrid will lead us to Peshkopia.

DAY 7 

 

Known as “Arberi Road” related with the Arberi Principality during Middle Ages the scenic road goes theought Rivers, georges and remote villages of the North East to connect Diber and Mat with Kruja. Our beautiful off road will be along Qafe Shtama National Park breathtaking from the clean air of the pine, oak also from the purity of the waters.

DAY 8

​

Depending on the departure we can drive to Sarisalltik Baba Tekke to admire the views. Kruja Mountain is known as the “Balcony of the Adriatic” when into a clear day we can see Puglia

​

* Optional to visit the museum of the Albanian Hero Skanderbeg and the beautiful Kruja Bazaar.

​
